Builder to Home Inspector

Paul Ryan, an inspector at iNK Inspections, served as a structural welder in the Navy with NMCB 133. After leaving the Navy, he began building foundations in 1993 as a form setter in Keystone/Breckenridge Colorado and built trusses in the winter. Later he moved to Seattle Wa. and started doing underground utilities, which led into short plats and running heavy equipment. Later a custom home builder out of Mukilteo Wa. hired him to be their in-house operator, making that home builder a full turn-key company. While employed with the custom builder, he would move into framing as the home phases progressed. Quickly finding apprenticeship with a Danish Master Carpenter, as he adapted quickly to following directions and had an innate ability for problem solving and good spatial reasoning. Under the Master Carpenter he was tasked with finish work and high-end installs. Due to his high attention to detail and good communication skills, he became the point of contact on-site for building inspectors and client change orders. Later Him and the Master Carpenter left to start their own company. In early 2000 at the downturn in construction, Paul went back to school. In college his studies were in construction, computer aided design and IRC code classes. Paul left school and started a small construction company in Seattle with his wife who previously finished up school as an architect. Paul then in his early 40s looked for a transition out of heavy site work and into the residential inspection business. In early 2014 iNK Home Inspections L.L.C. was formed.
